Injury Management and Return to Work
WorkGain delivers Injury Management and Return to Work services from Adelaide, using real work task simulation supervised by allied health professionals to build durable capacity.
- Work simulation programs are delivered by an interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation counsellors, physiotherapists and psychologists, integrating physical, cognitive and behavioural rehabilitation in one setting.
- WorkGain pioneered its work simulation model in 2018 and has since informed the approach through peer reviewed research undertaken in collaboration with the University of Adelaide.
- Programs are typically structured around 3 hours a day, 3 days a week, and average about 6 weeks in duration, though sessions can range from a single 2 hour visit to 6 months depending on goals.
- Services extend to Functional Capacity Evaluations using the standardised ErgoScience protocol, medico legal functional assessments, worksite and psychosocial risk assessments, and NDIS capacity building for participants.
Best for: case managers, self insured employers and insurers needing objective, work specific capacity testing and graduated return to work programs where standard therapy has plateaued or suitable duties are limited.
