Disability Inclusion and Accessibility Programs
DACSSA (Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of South Australia) provides disability advocacy and complaints support, a form of Disability Inclusion and Accessibility Programs, free of charge across regional and country South Australia and the Adelaide metropolitan area.
- Operating since 1991, DACSSA is a not-for-profit funded by the Australian Federal Government to help people with disability, their families and carers work through disability related challenges, including NDIS access, discrimination, human rights, abuse and housing.
- Its NDIS Appeals program supports clients through internal NDIA reviews and Administrative Appeals Tribunal hearings, including connecting people with legal services, all free of charge.
- DACSSA is accredited against the National Standards for Disability Services and has committed to the NDIS National Code of Conduct since 2018.
- DACSSA is independent of any NDIS service provider and also undertakes systemic advocacy, raising issues that affect the wider disability community with government and legislative committees.
