Cultural Competence Training

Cultural Competence Training delivers Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Programs, cultural responsiveness training for organisations working with refugee and migrant communities across Australia, run by the Centre for Culture, Equity & Health, active since 1994.

• Since 2016 the organisation has trained more than 8000 workers through its online courses, with clients including Parks Victoria, Royal Children’s Hospital, Gateways Support Services and Anglicare Victoria.
• Core online units cover key knowledge of Australian cultural diversity and practical skills such as reducing unconscious bias, plain language communication and working with interpreters, each completed in 30 to 45 minutes.
• Monthly workshops are held at its Richmond base, with in-house delivery available at a client’s workplace for staff who need face to face facilitation.
• Training content draws on published research frameworks, including Hofstede’s cultural dimensions work and government cultural responsiveness frameworks, and is positioned to help organisations meet accreditation standards.

Cultural Competence Training offers eLearning Content Development, building and hosting cultural competence courses for organisations across Australia through its own Learning Management System.

• For organisations with more than 50 staff, courses can be delivered on the vendor’s LMS with a branded section carrying the client’s logo, colour scheme and an admin account for tracking learner progress.
• Course content is also supplied as SCORM files for upload into a client’s existing LMS, giving organisations control over presentation and completion tracking on their own systems.
• Courses run on desktop, tablet or mobile and can be paired with face to face training and webinars for key staff to reinforce the eLearning content.

Best for: medium to large organisations that want cultural competence eLearning delivered ready made or supplied as SCORM content for their own training platform.
