Superannuation Fund

Cbus Super provides a superannuation fund that employers across Australia nominate as their default, with attended front counters in five states and an Employer Services team on a weekday employer line.

  • Employer Online, the fund’s own portal, lets an employer manage their account details and submit employee super contributions, including contributions destined for other funds.
  • The Cbus Clearing House (QuickSuper), provided by Westpac, works inside Employer Online, takes contributions entered manually or uploaded as a payroll file, and accepts electronic funds transfer, direct debit and Osko PayID.
  • Member accounts include insurance cover tailored to the member’s industry, a range of investment options and a MySuper option, and move with the member from job to job.
  • A member owned fund established in 1984, with 935,000 members and 230,000 employers as at 30 June 2026.

Best for: employers in any industry who want a default superannuation fund with its own contribution portal, attended front counters in five states and a weekday employer support line.

Superannuation Advisory and Compliance

Cbus Super publishes super obligation guidance for employers, built around the Payday Super rules that commenced on 1 July 2026.

  • A Payday Super how to guide sets out what an employer needs to know to be compliant, and a companion checklist steps out the action required to meet their obligations.
  • A Payday Super hub explains qualifying earnings, the new payment deadlines, faster exception handling and the Superannuation Guarantee Charge.
  • An employer FAQ set answers transition dates, what counts as qualifying earnings, the maximum contributions base and the penalties for a late or short payment.

Best for: payroll and finance teams reworking their super process for Payday Super.

FAQs

What does Cbus Super give an employer who nominates it as their default fund?

All new Cbus employers receive access to the Cbus Clearing House through Employer Online, where they manage their account details and submit employee super contributions. No matter how many employees an employer has, Employer Online handles their staff super, and the same system can pay super to other funds.

How are super contributions submitted to Cbus Super?

Through Employer Online and the Cbus Clearing House, either by entering contributions manually or by uploading a payroll file. The clearing house accepts electronic funds transfer, direct debit and Osko PayID, and an employer can generate a receipt as evidence of making super contributions and download reports. From 1 July 2026 BPAY, EFT and cheque payments made directly to the fund are no longer accepted.

What support does Cbus Super publish for employers on Payday Super?

A Payday Super how to guide, a checklist that steps out the action an employer needs to take to meet their obligations, and an employer FAQ set covering transition dates, timing, qualifying earnings, systems and clearing house setup, and remediation. Payday Super commenced on 1 July 2026 and requires super to be paid at the same time as salary and wages.
